Update – 2nd op cancelled with a couple of hours to go! – 3 Oct 2013

After expecting to go into Kings tomorrow for the day, for the ‘carotid balloon occlusion test’ they have just cancelled the op at 4pm this afternoon, not happy!

I have chased the hospital all week to get details of when I need to go in and the school has also been great in allowing Sue to have the day off to come with me. After hearing nothing all day, I called the hospital at 3.45pm this afternoon to ask what’s going on, for them to call me back 10 minutes later to tell me the operation tomorrow have been cancelled, giving the reason they didn’t have a bed for me tomorrow and that the doctor woulds call me in the next couple of days to rearrange it.

As you might image I’m just a little bit annoyed! I’ll let you know as soon as I know more.

    Hi Neil

What a disappointment for you and Sue & family!… and all of us routin’ for you! Hang on in… and please get on to them to give you a new date.

My experience with hospitals (and I’ve had a lot over the years for my & Roger’s family/friends) is that those that shout the loudest and “make waves” get the quickest attention. Looks like you have had a lot of cancellations/changes – totally acceptable for medical reasons, but ,in my opinion, unacceptable just for the lack of bed.

Right… my rant is over! LOL! Have a relaxing weekend and hope you’ll be back on track next week. Lxx

Sorry:( that’s disheartening, we know. There are no words to make that better- but keep your joy. Don’t let it steal your joy. Gods got it under control

Dear Neil, I am so sorry to hear your news! You and Sue must be so upset. Although I have nothing but praise for the NHS following my treatment last year, I despair at some of the stories I hear about the way patients are treated. We’ll keep praying for a new date soon. God Bless.

Neil, How very very frustrating! You must all be really brassed off. WE had similar situation at Kings last year with Sheila. Dates were not honoured and then when we got the call to go up there was still no bed and we had to sit in a weaiting room until they found one. They are so busy and really stretched. However once in they were wonderful and the level of nursing was so much higher than anything you get in a local hospital

Will keep crying out for you and family

nxbvdmsnbvdsnmbfmsnf !!!!!! annoying Someone is working in mysterious ways!!
perhaps looking from the inside HE senses a better timing for the op to be spot on ? perhaps teaching waiting? perhaps busy healing so the op is not as involved ? who knows. The good news is HE is the same yesterday/today/forever and the support is not stored in a sand timer so we will all still be praying and standing with 🙂
