12 Sep

Neil&Des_12Sept13

Firstly, sorry to everyone who has subscribed to my blogs and who will have received about 15 emails last night telling them about each and every message. Sorry I didn’t realised this would happen until a friend texted me this morning to tell me. I will try to limited these messages to one a day.

The sound track of my life – Part 2

5 days and counting. This sound track of my life speaks of the faith and hope that I have that ‘God can move the mountains!’

If faith can move the mountains, let the mountains move
We come with expectation, waiting here for you, I’m waiting here for you.

You’re the Lord of all creation and still you know my heart
The Author of Salvation, you’ve loved us from the start.

6 days to go!

6 days to go and had another scan at Guys today, after being radioactive for the last 20 hours! This scanner was a i123 MIBG nuclear medical scanner, which finds any active malignant cells, this information can be used after the surgery to help the medical team to work out if I need any further treatment.

Life still feels a bit weird at the moment as I currently feel well and unaffected by the tumour, but in only 6 days this is going to temporally change my life for a while, whilst my body heals after the operation.

Still it needs to be sorted out and from my point of view the sooner the better and I can then get on with life after a short pause.

Promises

11 Sep

Here are words of support that friends and family have given me recently.

The words that have been resonating around my head this week are
Greater things are yet to come
Greater things are still to be donee in the city

Trusting GOD that not only are you part of the greater things, but will lead many into what is planned

Karen Gardiner (10 November 2013)

Dear Neil,

Just feel convicted to put these words on text.

See, do you hear me Neil?
See, visualise beyond what you face.
Embrace The Lord’s promises for your life.
Keep a focus on your dreams and do not allow valley moments rob you of your bright future.

With much love

When we were praying for Neil I had a picture of a storm behind Jesus and Neil walking on the water to dry land.
The storm was behind them, but under their feet was a calm sea.

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. 10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. 11 Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. 12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations. 13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 62

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
